TREATMENT AND CONSTRUCTED WETLAND DISPOSAL SYSTEM
LOCATION: Sooke, BC

DESCRIPTION: Innovative treatment and
disposal design in an area of poor soils, including four-cell
constructed subsurface flow wetlands to provide tertiary treatment
of effluent from a 49 m3/d extended aeration activated sludge
treatment plant. The renovated effluent from the wetland is disinfected
prior to discharge into an ephemeral creek.
ROLE: Prime Consultant, pre-design, discharge
permit negotiations, detail design, construction supervision,
commissioning and on-going monitoring.
