PROJECT: MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION
METRO OFFICE FACILITY SEWAGE TREATMENT AND WATER REUSE FACILITY
LOCATION: Kansas City, Missouri, U.S.A.
OWNER: Missouri Department of Conservation.
DESCRIPTION: A tertiary wastewater treatment
and reclaimed water facility serving a 38,000 s.f. building combining
the Missouri Department of Conservation's Metro Office Facilities
and an Urban Environmental Education/Interpretation Center. The
indoor treatment facility combines mechanical and natural treatment
(constructed marsh) processes, and is a focal center for the
building and associated educational workshops. Reclaimed water
from the treatment system is used for toilets and urinals within
the building, and make-up water for an exterior wetland, which
significantly reduces the building potable water demand.
ROLE: Specialist process sub-consultant
and Permit assistance.
