PROJECT: DIAMOND EXPLORATION CAMP SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
LOCATION: Northwest Territories
OWNER: BHP Diamonds Inc.
DESCRIPTION: A 35 m3/d extended aeration activated sludge treatment plant serving up to a 186 person mining camp. The treatment plant was constructed out of wood on site, lined with an asphaltic urethane lining, and enclosed in a weatherproof enclosure. The treatment process also includes an equalization, foam control, disinfection with chlorine, sludge thickening, and aerated sludge digestion.
ROLE: Specialist subconsultant, pre-design, detailed design, equipment selection, commissioning, start-up and post start-up assistance.
