| PROJECT: MUNICIPAL SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT |
| LOCATION: Port Alice, B.C. |
| OWNER: Village of Port Alice |
| DESCRIPTION: The limited funding available
to construct a 900 m3/d sewage treatment plant led to a non conventional
approach. Following process design, NovaTec prepared a detailed
turnkey contract document outlining the scope of work, components
and size of key treatment units which incorporated rotary fine
screen, flow equalization, biological treatment, circular secondary
clarifier, aerated sludge digester and control building. Turnkey
bids were obtained from selected contractor / equipment vendor
alliances. Negotiations were held with bidders to clarify and
adjust bids and scope to ensure that the available budget would
not be exceeded. The works were completed within budget. |
