PROJECT: TECHNOLOGY VERIFICATION OF MARINE SANITATION DEVICES (MSDs)
LOCATION: Aboard the Sun Princess and Star Princess

DESCRIPTION:  Technical verification of a membrane filtration marine sanitation device, conducted aboard the Sun and Star Princess, cruising with full passenger load. The evaluation involved collection of permeate, blackwater and greywater samples. Samples were collected four times per day, for a mimimum of 10 days. The purpose of the test was to demonstrate compliance with U.S. Coast Guard 33 CFR 159 for BOD, TSS, pH, chlorine residual and fecal coliform. All analytical equipment was transported aboard the ship for on board testing.
