DESCRIPTION:  Technical verification of the Hydroxyl Systems Inc. CLEANSEATM Model No. BW-60 Blackwater marine sanitation device was conducted aboard the Vision of the Seas while cruising with full passenger load in the Mexican Riviera. The evaluation consisted of seven days of sampling and twelve days of testing aboard the ship. The purpose of the test was to demonstrate compliance with U.S. Coast Guard 33 CFR 159.309 for BOD, TSS, fecal coliforms, pH and chlorine residual, relating to discharge of effluent in Alaskan waters. All analytical equipment was supplied by NovaTec and transported aboard the ship for on board testing.

The unit tested was sized to handle an average flow of 15,840 gpd (60 m3/d) and was receiving 17,733 gpd (67 m3/d) during the testing period.
