DESCRIPTION: Detailed
assessment on behalf of a purchaser of a greenfield 422 ton/day
de-inking mill wastewater treatment system that had been shutdown
for the past three years following a short start-up. The treatment
system included flow equalization, heat exchangers, pH adjustment,
DAF primary clarifiers, activated sludge treatment, sludge thickening
and
dewatering. Prior to its shutdown, the facility was unable to
meet Permit limits for TSS, BOD and colour. Assessment included
evaluation of upgrading needs. Following purchase of mill, assisted
with process modifications, start-up and operator training. |
