PROJECT: RESIDENTIAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM TESTING AND VERIFICATION FACILITY

LOCATION: Comox, B.C.

 OWNER: Regional District of Comox Strathcona

DESCRIPTION: Household wastewater treatment package plant testing facility, located at a fully fenced municipal sewage treatment plant serving the towns of Comox and Courtenay on Vancouver Island in British Columbia , Canada . ANSI/NSF Standard 40 testing is carried out under subcontract to NSF, in addition to research and general testing services for manufacturers of package plants. A supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) unit controls the facility, allows real time monitoring of various parameters including dissolved oxygen, pH, effluent turbidity, ORP, and mixed liquor suspended solids, and enables the site to be remotely monitored. Manufacturers are able to obtain extensive real-time operating data on their systems, and further develop their processes.
