PROJECT: REDUCTION PLANT COMPREHENSIVE ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT, UPGRADING PROGRAM AND IMPLEMENTATION

LOCATION: Vancouver, B.C.

OWNER: West Coast Reduction Ltd.

DESCRIPTION: A multi-year environmental upgrading program was carried out at a major fish reduction, inedibles rendering, and grease refinery plant. Treatment consists of using pH adjustment, coagulation, flocculation, and dissolved air flotation for wastewater treatment. Work included wastestream characterization, treatment efficiency assessment and optimization, flow segregation and waste reduction. Additional work completed for this client include the preparation of several environmental audits and a spill response plan including the development of a spill response flow chart.
