| DESCRIPTION: This treatment
facility is capable of treating 20 m3/d of groundwater contaminated
with jet fuel, iron, and manganese. Through pH adjustment, hydrogen
peroxide and polymer addition, flocculation, settling, and oil/water
separation the majority of the contaminants are removed. Polishing
of the groundwater is provided by pressure dual sand media filters
and granular activated carbon filters. Surface run-off is treated
in an oil/water separator. The facility is automatically controlled
by a Programmable Logic Controller. |
