TROUBLE SHOOTING SUPERVISION

 OWNER: Domtar Inc.
 DESCRIPTION: Post start-up assistance, trouble shooting, upgrading and operator supervision of a 435 m3/d contaminated groundwater treatment plant designed and built by others. The process consists of pH adjustment, chemical oxidation of organics, precipitation of metals, coagulation and flocculation, settling, and sludge dewatering with a filter press. The implementation of NovaTec's recommendations resulted in the operation of the plant within the requirements stipulated by regulatory agencies. The plant was built to treat groundwater containing phenols, chlorinated phenols, PAHs, BTEX, and metals in excess of applicable criteria.
